Steel Strings

My steel string acoustic guitars are handmade using modern and traditional techniques, and combine modern and traditional elements as well.

Tops are individually selected for the their tonal and structural properties, and are generally thinner than a lot of other tops on the market, yielding a highly responsive and beautifully voiced instrument. My backs are built thin as well, and work with the top to create an enveloping sound.

Sound ports in the side of the guitar allow the performer to better hear themselves, and also add volume in front of the instrument. Flying buttresses, ala Rick Turner, are used to reinforce the neck block, which can otherwise rotate and distort under the tension of the strings. These buttresses, made of carbon fiber, run from the neck block to the wasit of the guitar, and help distribute the stress caused by the pull of the strings.

I am currently offering several acoustic models. The first, the OMR, is based on a traditional OM model. It has the voice you would expect from this veratile size of guitar. Great for picking, strumming, or fingerstyle. Very even tone, with a beautiful but not overpowering bottom end, and gorgeous trebles. The second, the OMS, is also based on the OM but with sexier curves.

The third model is an SJ (Small Jumbo) size. This guitar has more low end than the OMS, but still offers a balanced sound, and really shines when played with a pick. D-sized model coming soon!

All models are available custom made to your specifications.
